Tullynessle Deer Farm is located in rural Aberdeenshire. Full directions are available on our website once your visit is confirmed.
Yes. We offer guided farm tours where you can meet the deer, learn about deer farming, and find out how venison is produced.
Tours usually take place on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and at weekends, by appointment only.
Tours can be booked by calling Janet on 07827 279241 or emailing tullynessledeerfarm@gmail.com.
Pre-booking is essential. We offer one tour per day to minimise disturbance to the deer.
A guided walk around the farm where you will:
- meet our red deer herd
- learn how deer farming works in practice
- hear about the history of deer farming in Scotland
- learn how venison is produced
Depending on conditions, you may also have the chance to feed the deer. A small tasting of our farmed venison is included.
Absolutely! We have a pick-your-own program for certain crops during the harvest season.

Venison is a lean, high-protein meat, low in fat and rich in vitamins and minerals. It contains around a third less cholesterol than skinned chicken breast.
Our farmed venison is mild, tender and consistent in quality. Because we know the age of the animals and their welfare from birth, it can be cooked much like beef and used in many familiar recipes.
Venison cooks quickly and benefits from shorter cooking times.
Yes. We sell the Venison Bible, a simple cookery book covering all cuts, available for £5.
